Do you have an event coming up but you’re not sure how many people would turn up? If you wish to be as close to selling out as possible for your next event, we’re here to tell you that the little rainbow coloured square icon on your phone is more than just an app to scroll through for cute animal videos.

Yes, that’s right! Instagram is one of the biggest social platforms today and with a billion monthly active users, brands, companies, and even influencers often choose to promote their events or businesses through Instagram. Now, if you’re wondering how you can build the hype around your event through Instagram, we have some useful tips for you.

Content is key

There’s a wide variety of ways in which a basic and simple post can be used to promote your event, but to catch the attention of your viewers, you will have to be more than simply creative. Think of content that is engaging and catchy to go with your post. You can make a big announcement that reveals the date, location, or even the people performing at your event with creative taglines. Your goal is to convince your audience to attend the event and quality content is one of the most effective ways of attracting customers.

What’s your strategy?

One thing to keep in mind before marketing your event is to create a strong brand and marketing strategy that will make your event or company stand out from your competitors. What makes your event unique? Why should people attend it? How fun is it going to be? Before you start marketing your event on Instagram, Facebook, or any other social media platform, take time to invest in a well-crafted marketing strategy and a clear idea of how your brand should look online. Once you’ve got this in place, the other factors will only add to your growing engagement.

Don’t forget the Hashtags!

Hashtags are like conversations, and many companies use them to create and promote their events and campaigns. They play an integral role in digital marketing. Essentially, you need to create a hashtag that’s unique to your brand or event and use that hashtag in all your posts throughout your marketing campaigns which would make it easier for you to reach your target audience, allow your audience to get information about the event and even use the most popular hashtags relevant to your event to get noticed. A simple search in the search bar of your Instagram account will do the trick. You’ll find a list of hashtags under the ‘Top’ category that you can scroll through to get an idea of what kind of hashtags you can use or create. Moreover, when your followers use the same hashtag, their followers will use it and this, in turn, creates more visibility for your event.

Catch your viewer’s attention

Make your page stand out! There’s no doubt that Instagram is a visual social media platform that is bound to give your page or event more visibility. Considering the short attention spans of customers, it’s essential to build an Instagram page that is visually attractive using smart visual tactics. Capture appealing images of your events, maybe an insight into what’s happening backstage or your team at work, etc. by investing in good photography and Click, Tap, and Post. A compelling storyline to go with your post is sure to get you noticed.

With a little creativity and some out-of-the-box thinking, your engagement is sure to grow and these are just a few tips that will help you promote your event better. Stay tuned to read more on how your event can benefit from Instagram because we will be posting Part 2 very soon.

Happy Marketing!

Ever wondered how you can increase ticket sales, keep customers happy and not spend hundreds of £££ on advertising, ticketing, and website design?

Look no further! With Ticket24/7’s free-to-use ticketing platform you can be up and running in no time with your own webpage, ticketing sales, and marketing!

Our research shows that our sellers gain 20%* more ticket sales through Ticket24/7 than any other ticket sales platform. Why is this? We believe our fast checkout, reliable 24/7 customer service, and easy-to-navigate website attract more buyers. Plus with Ticket24/7 all our sellers receive free social media advertising to increase brand awareness and engagement! Your buyers will be retargeted too, meaning higher rates of brand loyalty.

You can sign up with Ticket247 in just 5 simple steps, outlined in our blog post here.

Ticket24/7 has free website integration and a powerful dashboard, so if you already have your own website, great! You can link it to your ticket page. If you don’t? No worries! We offer free web pages to all our sellers. Why is a website important? Well, 81% of businesses in the US alone have claimed that simply having a website has increased business for them, (Stickley, 2016) and when it comes to consumers, a website reiterates your credibility. Ticket24/7’s webpage design is compatible with smartphones, computers, and other devices. With 50% of consumers now using their smartphones for browsing websites, this is vital. (Fitzgerald, 2021) See more here

When it comes to payouts for events and venues, we understand that waiting around for ticket money to come back can be daunting. That’s why we offer daily payouts, rather than waiting until the event is over you can cash in, if and when you need to all at the click of a button! Best of all? Our booking fees are one of the lowest in the industry and you are charged nothing! Our standard fees are 70p minimum or 7% of face value, though this can be negotiated depending on estimated sales volume too! See more here

You need a website for your business. Here’s why:

Setting up a website can seem like one of the hardest things to do when starting out, but it’s one of the most effective ways to create brand awareness and reliability. Here at Ticket247 we understand the stress of creating websites and therefore offer free webpage design to all of our clients, whether you manage events, have a venue, or are up and coming musicians- selling your tickets through us means you don’t have to worry about domain names, webpage designers or any other boring stuff.

Be found on google

Having a website means you are 3 times more likely to be found on google. For example, if someone searches ‘tickets for *band name*’ and you are the only business selling those tickets, you will be found instantly, instead of your customers having to try and navigate social media accounts to make a purchase. With Ticket247’s webpage design, you can have all of your tickets in one place, along with all upcoming events, giving users the ability to share your platform, sign up to notifications when you post a new event, and also have a direct link to your social media.

24hr Online presence:

Social media platforms are brilliant for promotion, advertising, and engaging with your consumers, but there is no call to action unless someone is manning the page 24/7, or unless you have a website linked to these pages. With a website, your customers can buy tickets whenever they want, sign up for notifications for when new events are posted, and share the page with their friends. All without the worry of waiting for customer service personnel to be available.

Appeal to a wider audience:

Many people believe they don’t need a website and that an Instagram, Facebook or Twitter page is enough. the problem is not everyone uses these social media platforms. when you create an event on Facebook, it will come up on google, but it reduces the number of people who can access it drastically. As soon as they click on that link or website window, they will be asked to sign in to their Facebook account, which many people don’t have. in fact, fewer people are using Facebook for a number of reasons. Teenage users of Facebook were declining an estimated 45% percent from 2019 to 2021.(Heath, 2021)

To appeal to younger audiences, Facebook is not the place to be. Instagram, TikTok and Twitter on the other hand are. the only issue is these platforms do not have the security or business tools that made Facebook so attractive to businesses such as live venues or events management.

Reputability:

Credibility is key. Nobody wants to buy tickets from a social media account, or chase up third-party sellers. If someone can find you on google, see reviews, easily buy tickets and contact you- consumers are not going to question your credentials or whether you are real or not. In the modern world, there is an unspoken expectation that all reputable companies will have an online presence. 84% of today’s consumers think a website makes your business more credible than companies that only have social media profiles. (Versign,2015)

Cost efficiency:

Having a webpage also cuts costs. Not only is the webpage design with Ticket247 completely free when you sign up to sell tickets with us- but it means you won’t have to pay for any additional costs like independent website designers, staff to manage the website, or google advertising.

Scan it again and it will show orange because it has already been scanned. This is to help you identify people who may duplicate tickets or give the same ticket to another person. You can click the orange box and it will turn blue, this marks the ticket back as “not scanned”, so next time it is scanned it will be green.

What if I have a group booking?

If there is more than one ticket on the order when you scan one of them, it will show the scanned ticket in green if scanned for the first time (or orange if scanned more than once), but it will also show the status of all the other tickets on the order using the colours listed above. This allows you to click on any other tickets and also mark them as scanned. Ideal if you have a party of 2 or more turning up who all purchased on the same order. You can use this system to mark all the tickets as scanned without individually scanning them, but you have the choice to scan each one individually if you prefer.

Have an event coming up, but struggling to fill the guest list? Here are our top tips from social media hacks, to finding the right lineup, guaranteed to boost sales and get people talking.

1. Create a webpage.

Web pages ensure that people know you are legitimate, and it gives them a port of call for all queries. you can have an faq section for common questions and answers, get people to sign up for newsletters, and more! At ticket247 we offer free web pages to those who sell tickets through us, so you can focus on creating the showstopping event. Read more here: https://ticket247.co.uk/SellWithUs

2. Be active on your social media.

Letting people know you’re there and listening is vital to brand loyalty, after all, who wants to speak to a robot every time they have an issue? Reply to comments, post regularly, and engage with your consumers in any way. Creating a memorable and accessible Twitter hashtag is one way to sort all of your mentions into one easy-to-find place so you can share posts at the click of a button!

3. Post your reviews!

Reviews say everything! Had an event in the past that had brilliant feedback? Include quotes on your front page so the first thing people see is exactly why they should go – straight from the horse’s mouth.

4. Reward loyal customers.

Those people that left reviews? reward them! Let everyone know that by going to your events, they’re in with a chance of a VIP experience next time. This can be done by collecting all reviewers and holding a lucky draw for free tickets, an upgraded ticket – or if it’s a festival, how about a glamping experience?

5. Ditch the paper.

E-tickets are the way forward. With the worry of paper tickets not arriving on time, shipping damage and even the environment, make your ticket buying accessible for everyone- after all, it is 2021 and who uses paper anymore? with Ticket247, in just a few clicks your customers will be able to purchase and receive their tickets faster than ever.

6. Merch. Merch. MERCH.

People love memorabilia, especially if it’s their favourite artist! Many venues use the adrenaline that their customers have when entering/leaving an event to their advantage. Merch on the door can be sold for much more than merch online, and you’re guaranteed to make a decent profit! Plus, merch advertises for you, so most of the hard work is done.

7. Know your audience.

There’s a reason nightclubs promote on university campuses and not at care homes. Advertise with promo leaflets, bulletin boards, or other out-of-home advertising in areas where your target audiences may be. Holding a grand opening of a new club? entice university students with leaflets that give them 1 free drink upon entry. A theatre event? Think fancy hotels in the area.

8. Discounts for early sales, ticket batches, and ‘last chance’ offers.

The early bird catches the…discount? Offer discounts for early sales, release tickets in batches and advertise each time to get people following and talking.

9. Call to action!

Had someone buy a ticket in the past and leave their email/phone number? Send a promotional offer to them they wouldn’t want to miss. Make sure your social media channels have easy links available to take your customers straight to where they need to be (preferably, your webpage!).

10. Competitions.

Want to get people talking about you or your event to build brand awareness? Use a competition to win a once-in-a-lifetime experience. By using a competition on social media channels, you can easily get people liking, sharing, and following your event in no time! (But make sure you abide by the terms and conditions of said social media channel, of course.)

Happy selling!
