How To: Add Your Facebook Meta Pixel (and Conversion API) to Track Ticket Sales

If you’re running ads on Facebook or Instagram, setting up a Meta Pixel is essential for tracking how people interact with your events. Ticket24/7 makes this easier than ever — unlike most other platforms, we support not only Meta Pixel integration but also Facebook’s Conversions API, giving you more accurate tracking and better insights into your ad performance. This means you can see exactly which ads are driving ticket sales, build retargeting audiences, and optimise your campaigns for conversions — all from your Ticket24/7 seller page.

What You’ll Need

You can add Facebook tracking in two ways:

Meta Pixel ID (recommended for everyone)
Conversions API Token (optional but more accurate – requires a Facebook Business Account)

You only need a Pixel ID to get started. If you have a Business Account and can also generate a Conversions API Token, we recommend using both for the most reliable tracking.

Step 1: Create a Meta Pixel

If you don’t already have a Pixel set up:

Go to your Meta Events Manager.
Click “Connect Data Sources” and choose Web.
Select Meta Pixel and follow the setup prompts.
Once created, you’ll be given a Pixel ID – copy this number.

Step 2 (Optional): Generate a Conversions API Token

The Conversions API (CAPI) is a server-side tracking method that ensures Facebook still receives events even if ad blockers or iOS restrictions stop the browser Pixel from firing.

To get a CAPI token:

In Events Manager, click into your Pixel.
Navigate to Settings.
Scroll to the Conversions API section.
Click Generate access token and copy the token.

You must have a Facebook Business Account to generate a token. This isn’t available for personal accounts or pages only.

Step 3: Add Your Pixel to Your Ticket24/7 Page

Once you’ve got your Pixel ID (and optional token):

Log in to your Ticket24/7 Seller Dashboard.
Go to the Pages section (where you manage your seller landing pages).
Click on a page and click Edit
Scroll to the Facebook Meta Pixel settings.
Paste in your Pixel ID, and your CAPI Token if you have one.
Click Save.

That’s it! Your Meta Pixel will now fire when people view your events and buy tickets from that specific page.

You can add different Pixels or tokens for each page if you want to track performance across multiple audiences or campaigns.

What Will Be Tracked?

Once set up, your pixel will automatically track key events like:

Page View (when someone visits your page)
ViewContent (when someone views an event)
AddToCart (when someone adds tickets to their cart)
Purchase (when someone completes a ticket order)

This data is passed back to your Ads Manager to help improve targeting, retarget visitors, and optimise for conversions.

How to create a trackable link

Creating a link takes seconds:

Go to your event via the Seller Dashboard.
Scroll down to the Trackable Links section.
Enter a Friendly Name for the link — e.g. FacebookAds, Rep1, or PosterCampaign.
Click the Create Trackable Link button.
Your new short link will appear in the table. You can now copy and paste it wherever needed.

Here’s what the Trackable Links table looks like once you’ve added a few:

Each link shows how many orders, tickets, and the total sales value it has generated.

Note: If you’ve used our Automated Event Announcement feature, you’ll see a system-generated trackable link already in the table. This automatically tracks how many sales have come directly from our announcement emails — a great way to measure the immediate impact of promoting your event to subscribers.

Need to tidy up?

You can delete any link at any time using the Delete button — perfect for cleaning up old or unused tracking URLs.

Tips for getting the most out of tracking

Use clear, descriptive names so you can easily identify each source later.
Share different links in different places to test which channels are working best.

Website Integration – Automatically list your events on your website

Ticket24/7 offers an easy to use code snippet which you can copy to your website to list your events, without having to add them one by one. Your website will always be up-to-date with your complete event listing, saving you a considerable amount of time if you run lots of events!

Getting started

Adding event listings to your website is easy! Copy and paste the following code in to a html element on your website where you want the events to appear. Be sure to copy all the code exactly as it is. You will need to replace “YOUR-PAGE-ID” with your actual page id (see section “How to find my page ID” below).

How to find your Page ID

Finding your Page ID is easy, simply head to the seller dashboard, go to pages, choose the page you wish to list events for and click on it. The page id is the number directly after /Dashboard/Page/Details in the URL, as seen in the picture below (page ID is 2 in this case):

Alternatively, if you scroll to the bottom of the page details screen in your dashboard, you can simply copy and paste the code from there, which already has the Page ID inserted.

How will it be displayed

Below is an example of how the integration looks by default using a live listing of events from Hangar 18 Music Venue in Swansea using the code snippet from above.

Customising the look

You can override the behaviour, colours and even the text displayed on the buttons to suit your individual website and needs. Below is a code snippet with all the customisable options.

Customising the colours

All colours use the standard HTML notication of #000000 through to #FFFFFF. You can use an online HTML Colour Picker to get the values for each of the parameters in the code above. When copying colour codes from the HTML Colour Picker, it is important to make sure you keep the # symbol before the colour code and that the whole colour code is surrounded by double quotes, as it is in the code above.

By default, event’s will be within a container with a white background. This is controlled by the “backgroundColourContainer” setting. You can replace the colour code “#FFFFFF” with “transparent” if you want the container to be transparent and the events lay directly on top of your website background colour or image.

Customising the buttons

You can control what text is displayed on the buttons, depending on the state of the event. “buttonTextTicketsAvailable” applies when the event has tickets with allocations available, “buttonTextTicketsUnavailable” applies when the event has tickets, but all the allocations are sold out or not on sale and lastly, “buttonTextTicketsNone” applies when an event has no tickets setup or they have all been deleted. You can set individual text for each of these three items, or you can set them all the same.

Customising the borders

The border colour can be set using the “borderColour” field. If you don’t wish to have borders around events, set borderSize to 0, otherwise set it to 1 or more.

Limiting the number of events

It can be useful to limit the number of events listed on a website. A typical usage scenario is to list only 9 or 12 events on your home page, with a link pointing to a more complete listing, which can save on real estate on your home page. To limit maximum events, add a second parameter to “GetEventsByPage” with the number of events to display. This needs to be a value between 1 and 100, any values outside of this range will default to 100.

The example below would limit the results to 12 events:

1. Cancelling an event

Canceling an event is simple and efficient on Ticket24/7. Here’s how:

Access Your Event: Log in to your Seller Dashboard and navigate to the specific event.
Cancel the Event: In the ‘Status’ section, click the red ‘Cancel’ button.
Automatic Refunds: All purchased tickets will be automatically refunded. Refunds may take up to 10 working days to appear in customers’ accounts, depending on their bank or card provider.
Attendee Notification: Ticket24/7 will send an automatic email to all ticket holders with details of the cancellation and refund timelines.

This hands-free process means you can focus on other priorities without worrying about managing refunds or communicating with attendees.

2. Postponing/Rescheduling an event

Once an event has sold a ticket, the option to change the date directly on the ‘Edit Event’ page will no longer be available. This ensures that all ticket holders are properly informed of any changes to the event. Instead, organisers will need to use the dedicated postpone/reschedule process, which automatically notifies attendees and provides a seamless way to manage the transition. Follow these steps to postpone or reschedule your event:

- Access Your Event: Log in to your Seller Dashboard and navigate to the specific event.
- Postpone the Event: In the ‘Status’ section, click the red ‘Postpone’ button. You’ll have two options:
  
  – Postpone Until Further Notice: Select this if the new date is undecided. An automatic email will be sent to all ticket holders, informing them of the postponement.
  – Set a New Date: Choose this option if you are rescheduling and have a new date ready.

Setting a New Date: Once a new date is confirmed, return to the event in your seller dashboard, click the ‘Reschedule’ button and enter the new date. This will update the event details and notify all ticket holders with the updated information. N.B. If you have tickets that go off-sale in a staggered fashion, we recommend you check each ticket type after you have rescheduled your event.
Refund Option: In compliance with UK ticket-selling regulations, attendees will have a 14-day window to request a refund after the new date is announced. Ticket24/7 will handle all valid refund requests automatically, so you don’t have to.

3. Tips for Minimising Cancellations or Postponements

While some situations are unavoidable, here are a few ways to minimize disruptions:

Have a Backup Plan: Prepare for potential issues by securing alternative dates or venues in advance.
Monitor Ticket Sales: Use the real-time insights in your dashboard to assess sales trends and ensure the event is financially viable.
Stay Transparent: Proactively communicate with attendees and stakeholders if there’s any uncertainty about the event.

Get Started (Part 2): Adding/Updating Tickets for Your Event

To allow people to buy tickets to your event, you’ll need to add one or more ticket types. Adding tickets to your event on Ticket24/7 is a straightforward process designed to get you up and running quickly. Here’s how you can do it:

Step 1: Create a Ticket Type

Access Your Event: Navigate to your event in the seller dashboard and click the “Create Ticket” button.

Enter Basic Details: Provide the necessary information for your ticket type, including the maximum number of tickets you wish to sell. Once this limit is reached, the ticket type will still appear on the event listing but will be marked as sold out.

Step 2: Set Advanced Options (Optional)

Advanced Settings: Click the “Show advanced options” link to access additional settings. By default, tickets are available for purchase immediately and go off sale an hour before the event start time. You can set a future date for tickets to go on sale, and they will be listed as ‘Pending on Sale’ until that date.
Visibility: Use the “Enable” checkbox to control whether the ticket is displayed on the live listing.
Capacity Limits: Tickets are limited by the maximum event capacity if specified. You can adjust this for specific ticket types, such as for items that don’t impact event capacity.

By default the tickets will be limited by the maximum event capacity (if one has been specified in the advanced settings on the Create/Edit Event page). You may wish to turn this off for a particular ticket type e.g. for sundry items that have no impact on the event capacity.

Step 3: Create Additional Ticket Types (Optional)

If you have different ticket categories (e.g., VIP, General Admission, Standing, Seated etc.), repeat steps 1 & 2 to add them. You can add as many different ticket types as necessary.

Step 4: Viewing/Editing Existing Tickets (Optional)

Manage Tickets: All added ticket types are listed on the Event Details page in the seller dashboard, along with associated prices, details, and sales data.
Edit Tickets: To make changes to a ticket type, click the “Edit” button (pencil icon) on the ticket you wish to update.
