Singer, songwriter, and producer China Moses evolves her artistry with defiant authenticity, resisting easy labels. Her music captivates through deep groove, sensitivity, wit, and inspiration from the broad lineage of Black American music.Her frank, fearless songs explore fleeting emotions and extended narratives via reflective lyrics and phrasing. Her voice-a satin ribbon around crackling flame-shines brightest live, where she can transform worlds in an instant.Her 2021 & The Vibe Tribe EP (with Marijus Aleksa, Ashley Henry, Luigi Grasso, Neil Charles) drew wide praise. The Los Angeles-born, Paris-based artist has performed globally and contributed to projects like "Moesha," Julie Delpy's "Lolo," French dubs for "The Princess and the Frog" and "The Lion King" (2019), plus theater as Sally Bowles in Cabaret and Billie Holiday in Cafe Society Swing. She's appeared with stars including Iggy Pop, Meryl Streep, Will Smith, and Mariah Carey.Since 1997, she's released seven leader albums on Virgin, EMI, Blue Note, Decca, and more. In 2008 she launched MadeInChina productions for This One's for Dinah (2009), Nightintales (2017), the 2021 EP, and her 2025 album it's complicated.-a masterful, personal jazz-soul-blues return after eight years.She hosts acclaimed radio shows: "Made in China" on TSF Jazz (France) and "Late Night with China Moses" on Jazz FM (UK), among few women of color with multiple European/UK slots.Daughter of Gilbert Moses III and Dee Dee Bridgewater, the self-described dropout has music and culture in her DNA. She's collaborated/performed with Archie Shepp, Theo Croker, Jamie Cullum, Terri Lyne Carrington, Meshell Ndegeocello, Fatoumata Diawara, and more; shared stages with Roy Hargrove, George Benson, and major orchestras/big bands; and toured over 800 shows across six continents in recent years at venues like Ronnie Scott's, Royal Albert Hall, Olympia, Elbphilharmonie, and Birdland.Beyond performance, she's a researcher, broadcaster, and educator dedicated to authentic, inclusive perspectives. Honors include the 2013 French American Foundation Young Leader class, Chevalier of St Emilion & Bergerac, and 2020 Montreux Jazz Academy panelist.
