With their debut album Birding, London dreampop trio deary have purposely evolved theirsound, opting for starker lyrics and heavier instrumentation than on their previous releases.They chose the title to draw attention to the direct impact humans have on the world aroundus, whether that be nature, or ourselves. Despite some of the heavy subject matter, thealbum aims to give the listener a moment to pause, reflect, recalibrate and remind oneself ofall the good, happiness and love that can easily be forgotten in everyday life. The importanceof protecting the inner child or someone more vulnerable, holding hands, learning from pastmistakes.
