About this event

Eat Static, formed in 1989 by former Ozric Tentacles members Merv Pepler and Joie Hinton, are pioneers of the UK's underground electronic scene. Known for fusing trance, techno, and psychedelic influences, the duo carved out a niche with their science fiction-inspired aesthetic and experimental live shows. Eschewing guitars for sequencers and samplers, they embraced early rave culture while retaining a progressive rock sensibility. Their debut Abduction (1993) cemented their reputation, and subsequent releases pushed boundaries with genre-blurring soundscapes. Even after Hinton's departure in 2008, Pepler has kept Eat Static alive, touring and releasing forward-looking, extraterrestrial-inspired electronic music.
