LiveWire presents Anderson from Crazyheads and the Headonists on Friday 7th August 2026

In the late 80’s Leicester's CRAZYHEAD hit the live scene, supporting the likes of Iggy Pop, The Ramones, Julian Cope, The Cult and The Mission, becoming one of the most respected live bands of the time. They released 2 well received albums and a number of singles on FOOD RECORDS and PARLOPHONE Lead vocalist Anderson now lives in Brighton, and it was there that his old neighbour, Robber Byker (from Gaye Bykers On Acid) had set up the Cellar Dweller club with local 3-piece The Qwarks. 

Anderson started joining them onstage as “Mystery Guest and The House Band” having a blast covering 60’s garage numbers (Sonics, Chocolate Watchband etc) until it was suggested that they try a few Crazyhead numbers. This made sense as The Qwarks were already fans, and Ian (Anderson) already knew them! This grew into the idea of going out as "Anderson from CRAZYHEAD and The Hedonists", playing the songs in a more stripped-down garage style.
