The National Emergency Services Museum is housed within one of Sheffield's most historic buildings, the former Victorian Police, Fire and Ambulance Station on West Bar, constructed in 1892. Purpose-built to serve the growing industrial city, the complex originally brought together the police, fire brigade, and ambulance services under one roof-an innovative and forward-thinking design for its time.   For much of the late 19th and 20th centuries, the building was at the heart of Sheffield's emergency response. Fire crews operated from the station using horse-drawn engines before transitioning to early motorised appliances, while police officers and ambulance services were dispatched from the same site to deal with everything from industrial accidents to major city incidents. The building witnessed countless emergencies during periods of rapid industrial expansion, wartime air raids, and post-war redevelopment.   By the late 20th century, modern operational demands meant the emergency services gradually moved to newer facilities, and the historic West Bar building eventually fell out of frontline use. Recognising its historical importance, the site was saved and carefully restored, reopening in 2014 as the National Emergency Services Museum.   Today, the museum preserves and tells the stories of Britain's emergency responders, housing an extensive collection of historic vehicles, uniforms, equipment, and personal accounts from the police, fire, ambulance, coastguard, and other lifesaving services. The building itself remains a powerful reminder of public service, sacrifice, and resilience, with its original architecture still echoing its operational past.   We're looking forward to welcoming our customers as they join us for our paranormal event at the National Emergency Services Museum, exploring not only the history of the emergency services but the atmosphere and experiences held within this remarkable and historic building.
