About the venue: A German restaurant and beer hall on Smith Street rated 4.4 from around 650 reviews, mid-priced. Note the hours: it opens at 5pm and closes at 10pm Monday to Thursday, so a 7pm start gives three hours. Reviewers describe long communal wooden tables and dog-friendly outdoor seating — the shared-table layout suits a networking format well.
Getting there: About as convenient as New York gets: Bergen Street on the F and G lines is essentially at the door, a minute's walk, putting the venue roughly fifteen minutes from Lower Manhattan. Smith–9th Streets, also F and G, is eighteen minutes if you are coming from further south. Smith Street is a busy retail strip with metered parking only, so the subway is comfortably the better arrival.
