Watch the hours: it closes at 8pm Monday to Wednesday and 9pm Thursday — the earliest close of any venue in this tranche, so a 7pm start gives only an hour on most nights. It trades primarily as a breakfast and brunch restaurant, which is worth weighing for an evening event.
Getting there: The venue is on Ottawa Avenue in downtown Grand Rapids, an easily walkable centre. There is no rail transit, so arrival is by car or by The Rapid bus network. An Ellis Parking lot sits a minute away on Pearl Street — be warned that Ellis operates most of the downtown lots and its reviews are poor, at 1.6 stars, with recurring complaints about broken machines and exit delays. Allow extra time when leaving.
