About the venue: A long-established ByWard Market pub — reviewers refer to its history — rated 4.4 from over 2,100 reviews and in the lowest price band of any venue in this set. Open 11am to 2am every day, so timing is flexible. It runs live music and operates as an event venue, and the room is described as a proper dive bar: characterful and loud rather than polished.
Getting there: The venue is in the ByWard Market, a short walk from Rideau and Parliament. Note that the nearest O-Train station, Tremblay, is 3.4km away beside the VIA rail station — so take the Line 1 train to Rideau and walk from there rather than aiming for Tremblay on foot. Drivers have the PreciseParklink garage at 22 York Street essentially next door, a minute away and open 24 hours, though its reviews on cleanliness and night rates are poor.
