About the venue: A classic Paris pub on the Quai Saint-Michel with a view across to Notre-Dame, rated 4.0 from around 1,500 reviews and in the mid price band. It opens at 5pm Tuesday to Sunday and runs to 2am, with happy hour until 9pm — so a 7pm start lands inside it. Closed Mondays. Terrace seating out front makes it easy to spot arrivals.

Getting there: The venue sits directly on the Seine opposite Notre-Dame, and transport could hardly be simpler: Saint-Michel Notre-Dame — served by RER B and C and by Métro lines 4 and 10 — is essentially on the doorstep, about a minute's walk. If you drive, the Indigo car park at Place Saint-Michel is two minutes away on Rue Francisque Gay and is open around the clock, though street parking in the 5th is not realistic on a weekday evening.
