About the venue: A bar and grill on Chestnut Street rated 4.3 from around 1,200 reviews, mid-priced. It closes at 10pm Monday to Wednesday and midnight on Thursday, so a Thursday event has more room than a midweek one. Reviewers describe a restaurant downstairs and a separate bar upstairs — the upstairs room is the one to ask about for a group — plus a well-regarded happy hour.
Getting there: Well connected: Suburban Station is a seven-minute walk, giving access to all SEPTA Regional Rail lines and the Market–Frankford and Broad Street subway lines, and 30th Street Station — Amtrak's main Philadelphia stop — is twelve minutes. That makes the venue reachable from New York and Washington by train as well as from across the region. Centre City parking is expensive, so the train is the sensible arrival.
