About the venue: A cocktail bar and restaurant rated 4.4 from around 950 reviews, mid-priced. It is closed Mondays and opens 5pm to 1am the rest of the week. Reviewers describe spacious booths that are intimate enough to hold a conversation — one notes specifically that you can hear one another — plus a happy hour from 4pm. Tables go quickly later in the evening, so arriving early helps.
Getting there: The venue is on South 1st Street in downtown San Jose, directly on the VTA light rail corridor — stops are essentially at the door, and the line connects to Diridon Station for Caltrain to San Francisco. That makes this one of the better-connected Bay Area venues. Downtown garages are close by for anyone driving.
