About the venue: A gastropub rated 4.4 from more than 2,700 reviews, mid-priced, with a beer list reviewers rate among the best in the city. Note the closing time: 10pm Monday to Thursday, earlier than most venues here, so a 7pm start gives three hours. Reviewers describe it as relaxed and unpretentious, slightly away from the busiest part of Gastown.

Getting there: The venue sits on Alexander Street on the edge of Gastown, close to the waterfront. Stadium-Chinatown SkyTrain on the Expo and Millennium lines is about eleven minutes' walk, and Main Street-Science World is fifteen — so it is walkable from transit but not adjacent. Street parking in this stretch is limited; the surrounding Gastown lots or a rideshare are the easier options for an evening.
