International opera stars return for an exciting second season of London's newest classical song series held in the intimate space of "The Jewel in the Strand",  St Mary le Strand. These six recitals, curated by soprano Susan Parkes, will cover a broad spectrum of composers and feature some of the most talented singers and accompanying artists performing today. With a gift for rapid-fire text and a "great penchant for comedy" (Opera Scene), he has performed cabaret songs alongside Dame Felicity Lott and Graham Johnson. George is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and of the Young Artist Programmes at Garsington, Longborough, Oxford Song, the City Music Foundation, and the Edinburgh International Festival. Recent opera highlights include Count Almaviva Le nozze di Figaro and Leporello Don Giovanni (Cumbria Opera), Commissario and cover Barone Douphol La traviata (Grange Festival), cover Starveling A Midsummer Night's Dream (Garsington Opera), Junius The Rape of Lucretia (British Youth Opera), Zweiter Diener Capriccio (Edinburgh International Festival), and a singer-actor starring role as the Drunken Poet and BottomLucy Colquhoun graduated from the Royal College of Music, studying with Roger Vignoles. During her time at the College she won all the major prizes for piano accompaniment, including the Alisdair Graham Prize for Piano Accompaniment (English Song), the Joan Chissel Schumann Prize and the Titanic Memoriam Prize in the Lies Askonas Singing Competition. Lucy was also  recipient of the Douglas and Hilda Simmonds Award, the Kendall Taylor Award, and a scholarship from the Honourable Society of the Knights of the Round Table.  This year she was winner of the Ronald Tickner Trust Award as part of the Somerset Song Prize.
