About this event

Take a summer evening journey through music of elegance, lyricism, and expressive depth in this instalment of The Grand Tour concert series-each event devoted to the musical heritage of a different country, with this concert featuring Italy. Held in the intimate, candlelit surroundings of St Mary le Strand, one of London's most exquisite Baroque churches, this recital offers a captivating exploration of keyboard writing from the 18th to the early 20th century. Italian pianist Luca Lione presents a refined and heartfelt programme that weaves together masterpieces by Scarlatti, Clementi, Chopin, Puccini, and Rendano. From Scarlatti's sparkling sonatas and Clementi's dramatic F-sharp minor Sonata, to the Romantic poetry of Chopin and the delicate charm of Puccini and Rendano, the evening showcases the breadth and beauty of the Italian piano tradition.Enjoy the performance with a complimentary glass of Italian wine and allow the candlelit atmosphere to transport you-whether you are discovering this music for the first time or returning to it as a devoted listener.FeaturingLuca Lione (piano)ProgrammeA.
