Hey ! Hey ! it's THE MONKEES TALE - LIVE ON STAGE - A Tale of Music and Mayhem! The Monkees - Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork. This is an exclusive and unmissable matinee live on stage show in sound and vision and recreates the American legends and all their hits and classic tracks in a full afternoon show with full narration. Micky, Davy, Michael and Peter started out as TV characters - a clown, a romantic, an intellect, and an innocent - living in a Malibu beach house, episodically trying to make a go of their music careers in a light-hearted, often surreal, and very meta sort of way. Significantly, the characters' first and last names and those of the actors who played them were the same, blurring the lines between fiction and real life. From there though, they did one better. The TV characters stepped out of the screen to become a recording entity and went on to play songs written for the show in live settings as a band. In this way The Monkees became a uniquely multimedia experience, spilling over into real-life in a way that was unprecedented. That first ever "manufactured" Boy Band was the brainchild of TV executives Bob Rafelson & Bert Schneider, selling MILLIONS of singles and albums ...starting with "Last train to Clarkesville"! Yet even today it remains shrouded in mystery...What really happened behind the scenes?
