About this event

The Utopia Strong are a UK-based electronic trio known for their immersive, exploratory sound that blends kosmische, ambient, dub, krautrock and experimental electronics. Formed by Steve Davis (the former world snooker champion), Kavus Torabi (also of Gong and Cardiacs), and Michael York, the project began as an improvisational collaboration and quickly evolved into a critically acclaimed studio and live act.Their music is largely instrumental, built from modular synths, analogue textures, hypnotic rhythms and slow-building compositions that feel both futuristic and ritualistic. Drawing from the lineage of 1970s kosmische music and underground electronic experimentation, The Utopia Strong create long-form pieces that reward deep listening while remaining warm, playful and curious.
